Chemical peels...

A chemical skin peel helps loosen and remove the surface layer of dead skin cells and promote deeper skin firming effects. This again helps the skin appear smoother, healthier, plumper and tighter. Skin peels are ideal fro treating fine lines, dull skin tone, enlarged pores and hyper pigmentation including age spots.
They also smooth rough, dry and sun damaged skin, giving it a brighter appearance and fresher texture.

More about chemical peels...

Which peels do we do?

We offer a variety of advanced chemical peels that work to prevent and correct skin problems. We use Skinceuticals, Agera, Epionce, Dermaceutic. There are 3 types:

BHA s (Salicylic Acid)

They exfoliate the skin, decongest pores and help control the amount of sebum.

They are suitable for oily, acneic, and ethnic skin types.

AHA Glycolic Acid

AHAs (glycolic or lactic Acids). They help reduce the appearance of fine lines and soften wrinkles, and are ideal to treat dry, photo damaged and ageing skin.

TCA (Trichloro acetic)

They are either light, medium or deep peels which remove the upper damaged layers of the skin and so helps lines, pigmentation and acne.

What to expect

The peel treatment is performed by a qualified therapist. We usually recommend a course of six peels (except for TCAs), carried out on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The practitioner will discuss with you, usually after a complete skin analysis, which type of peel will suit your skin. A monthly maintenance peel is recommended and regular homecare routine is also essential.

Preparation of the skin prior to a pel

  • Use products or samples containing AHA’s for at least two weeks prior to starting your course of peels.
  • Avoid using an AHA product before and after having a peel for 24 hours.
  • Discontinue any use of RETIN-A or any other topical medicative creams for at least 6 weeks.
  • Also do not have any laser, waxing or electrolysis for 48 hour before or after a Gel peel treatment.

What does a peel feel like?

A peel feels like a lot of little ants running over your face – like a tingling or burning sensation. The skin will usually appear somewhat red and glowing.
