Why have Sculptra?

The treatment is for patients who want to restore lost volume to sunken and sagging cheeks. It is the only treatment that is purely a collagen stimulant without any added filler. It stimulates the collagen producing cells in your skin and over time the skin produces natural collagen. The injected micro particles are fully resorbed and the facial volume is restored gradually over the following months, whilst the skin produces the new collagen. The face and skin is plumped up and refreshed.

How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra is a Poly-L-lactic acid in a watery infusion which is injected into the skin. The water is dispersed within a day or two and the PLLA particles stimulate the skin to produce new collagen which leads to a natural thickening of the dermal tissue. It is not the particles/filler that create the increased volume, it is your own new collagen. 2-3 treatments are required and the collagen regeneration takes about 4-6 months to take full effect and may have effect for more than 3 years. The product is eventually completely absorbed leaving only new plumped up skin.
